We are looking for a customer-focused HR Systems Assistant, who will help us to deliver second line HR system query management across the University of Edinburgh, providing expert service, consistent advice and the best experience for our staff when they need HR support.

The Opportunity :

To join the team and gain experience within the ongoing transformation of HR within the University. Delivering a flexible and resilient process and technical support service by enhancing and developing proficiency within the HR service. You will support the ongoing development and implementation of new systems, establishing new ways of working as we transition to a new operating model.

You will deliver consistently excellent customer service experience, resolving process, user access and technical enquiries via service requests and triaging more complex enquiries to resolution, working with our People and Money Service team, escalating where appropriate.

Your skills and attributes for success :

  • Strong experience of delivering a range of HR Services within a fast-paced environment in at least one of the following: HR administration, recruitment, payroll and/or employee life-cycle transactions functions.
  • Agility and skills to be able to explain technical issues to internal customers in simple, easy to understand language.
  • The ability to organise time effectively to manage your own workload, prioritise to achieve deadlines, act on your own initiative to address issues, escalating where appropriate.
  • Strong work ethic, demonstrating extra effort when required.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail with experience of handling confidential information.
  • Experience in the use of IT software e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
