Samuel Ward Academy is looking to appoint a dynamic Design Technology & Engineering teacher to join the Design Technology Department.
We are looking for a teacher of the highest calibre who has an excellent understanding of the subject and the ability to motivate, challenge and inspire our students. The successful candidate will be a highly skilled, innovative, creative and enthusiastic practitioner with a determination to achieve the highest outcomes.
Design technology is a popular subject taught is modern, well equipped rooms. The successful candidate will benefit from an excellent CPD offer and will join a school with a highly visible and supportive SLT, a sensible to approach to workload and a calm, respectful working environment.
Samuel Ward is a highly successful 11-18 co-educational academy. We are situated in pleasant surroundings on the western edge of Suffolk, within easy reach of Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds. We benefit from excellent facilities; our new £10m building opened in April 2019. We were inspected by Ofsted in November 2022 and were delighted to be graded a good school.
For the school year 2023/24, Unity Schools Partnership are piloting a two week October half term break. Other holidays remain in line with national patterns. The school day has been extended slightly to ensure we deliver the same amount of in-school time over the year.
