Position Overview & Specifications

Do you want to make a difference to young people's futures? Have you seen the value of higher education and now want to promote this to school/college students? Are you interested in gaining experience on an exciting and innovative regional programme? This graduate internship offers an invaluable opportunity to work across the Higher Education Progression Partnership. Hepp works across the Sheffield City Region to encourage more children, young people, and adults to consider higher education opportunities. We work closely with our sister project, HeppSY, which is part of the Uni Connect Programme, funded by the Office for Students. Between Hepp and HeppSY, we provide impartial advice and guidance about higher education to all schools in the Sheffield City Region. This programme involves working with learners who are in primary school, secondary school and mature students. As part of this role, you will: Play a full part in the coordination, delivery and evaluation of the Hepp programme as well as attending events across the region, work with staff and students across the regions' primary and secondary schools, providing accurate and impartial information to targeted young people, carry out research, plan and prepare materials and activities, and deliver presentations in addition to related administrative work including evaluation, record keeping and report writing. What experience and skills does a Graduate Intern need? The ability and confidence to engage an audience of young people is essential, alongside excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills; a positive and flexible approach; and the ability to work accurately and independently.
