THE OPPORTUNITY
We have commenced our search for a Receptionist to join Courtyard by Marriott Sheffield.
We need: 1 x Full-Time Receptionist = 40 hours per week 1 x Part-time Receptionist = 24 hours per week 1 x Part-time Receptionist = 16 hours per weekExample Shift patterns:
Full-Time = 06.30 - 15.00, 08.00 - 16.30, 13.30 - 22.00, 14.30 - 23.00
Part-time = 07.00 - 12.00, 08.00 - 13.00, 08.00 - 14.00, 17.00 - 22.00
Due to open in 2023, a new Courtyard by Marriott six-storey, 150 Bed hotel which will feature a Restaurant, Bar Terrace, and Gym facilities.
What you'll be doing...
Reporting to the Front Office Shift Leader, you can expect your working day to include the following.
As a Receptionist key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the day to day operation of the reception desk as required and ensuring the highest levels of customer service are consistently being delivered to our guests.
- Identifying customer service problems or issues before they arise.
- Displaying a positive, friendly and informal manner with customers.
- Showing a sense of urgency on behalf of customers and actions requests quickly.
- Undertaking work in a well-organised and systematic way.
- Working effectively with colleagues and other departments.
- Striving for excellence by paying attention to important detail.
- Ensuring promises are kept by following through on customers' requests.
- Maximising sales opportunities through upselling, cross-selling and achieving add-on-sales.
The successful applicant for this role will deliver excellent customer service, have a positive ‘can do' attitude, be willing to learn and show that they care.
Please note hours/shifts will be rostered according to the operational requirements of the business.

- A great personality and be genuine, approachable, attentive and instinctive.
- A proven track record in a similar role.
- Strong training and development skills so you can share your skills with others.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A desire to be “the best” with high standards.
- Ability to effectively manage and motivate the individuals within your team to support them in achievement of their personal development goals.
- Good proven organisation and planning skills gained through previous experience.
- Opera knowledge is desirable but not required.
