We are a small but mighty non-profit in the education technology sector - think start-up office atmosphere - with a big impact. We're looking for the right person (rather than the right CV) to help us prototype and iterate new activities in our learning software, onecourse. It will be used by of millions of marginalised children.

Our goal is for children to turn the world upside down, but first they need the fundamentals of an education. They need to be able to read fluently, to write with confidence and to be fully numerate. We are a non-profit based in London building software to transform the learning of children in reading, writing and numeracy. All in their own language, and at their own pace. We develop innovative pilot projects to find the best ways of bringing quality education to marginalised children. We work with partners to implement and scale technology-based learning initiatives that see children learning through our software. In Malawi, one such initiative is being scaled to reach 3 million + primary aged children.
Role
You’ll be a full-time junior software developer. We are currently hybrid working, with two days in our London office, three remote.
What you’ll be working on
- Working with a small team to rapidly prototype new child-focussed activities for our software.
- Ability and enthusiasm to quickly iterate the prototype activity after feedback from the team.
- Quality assurance testing of new and existing learning activities.
- Supporting our senior developers working on our native Android and iOS apps.
Requirements
Tech
- Proficiency in one or more rapid application development environments.
- Java / Kotlin / iOS native app development experience beneficial.
- Dev-ops experience beneficial (linux server administration, software build and deployment automation).

- Passionate about technology, product and user experience.
- A keen interest and belief in technology as a catalyst for scaleable, quality education.
- Ability to work independently, plan your own solutions to problems and iterate quickly.
- Enthusiastic about working with and supporting a team.
