Full time (34.5 hours), we are open to a conversation about how you work these hours, covering Macmillan’s South West region (Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Milton Keynes, Oxfordshire, Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire)
Home-based / Split between home and our London Office / Shipley Office / Glasgow office
Salary range (plus car allowance if applicable)

About the role
This is an exciting role in the communities section of Macmillan’s communications and engagement team. No two days will be the same - one day you could be supporting a story about a local Macmillan service and encouraging people to get help and support via impactful print, online and broadcast coverage, and the next you could be speaking to a person who is fundraising for Macmillan by running a marathon every day for a year.
You will work closely with lots of stakeholders and teams across the organisation, with a focus on driving awareness of Macmillan’s work locally. You will identify cross-channel communications opportunities and will also respond to reactive media enquiries, supporting senior members of the organisation to identify, prevent and manage reputation issues for Macmillan.
About you
- You will have demonstrable experience of devising and delivering creative and impactful communications activity and gaining media coverage.
- You will have great interpersonal skills, with experience of building positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and journalists.
- You’ll also have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to think creatively and to manage multiple projects to agreed deadlines.
