We are seeking a highly motivated professional who is eager to progress to a Technician position in our dynamic and fast-paced plastics manufacturing environment.

Our customers are predominantly leading multi-national businesses in automotive, aerospace, medical, heating, cooling, retail displays, electrical and water distribution, and building products. We are looking to expand our capabilities, in line with the growing industries demands.
With 3 sites across the UK, Goodfish Group is looking for an Injection Moulding Technician based at our Worcester site. This is a key position providing technical support to ensure high levels of productivity and ensure the products are produced right first time. In addition to your expertise in injection moulding, we are particularly interested in candidates who have a keen interest in collaborative robots/end of arm tooling. You should be comfortable in learning to actively participate, alongside other colleagues, in the integration and programming of collaborative robots into our production processes.

Outputs:
- Fault findings and problem solving of development and production processes
- Provide technical support to setters and the production team
- Coach, motivate and manage setters, ensuring individual and group productivity
- Oversee the training of Trainee Setters
- Maintain the skills matrix for the Technical Team
- Ensure machines/tooling are optimised at all times, minimising downtime
- Ensure high quality standards in line with the customer expectations and assist managers in continuous improvement
- Assist setters with tool changes including preparation, cleaning hoppers and material preparation
- Reception and initial assessments of incoming tooling and equipment
- New tooling and sampling and maturation/optimisation
- Fixtures and program development to include current and new product introduction
- Maintain highest standards of housekeeping in line with 5S protocols
- Manage machine-operating systems to achieve Tier 1- level OEE
- Continuous effort to reduced downtime and scrap levels
- Suggest and implement cost-saving ideas
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with 5S protocols
- Cover shifts for setters when needed
Personal:
- Confident and conversant with plastic injection moulding products, processes, materials, tools and equipment
- IMT 3 is essential
- You will hold IMT4 or have the right amount of experience and willingness to start working towards it
- Be a highly experienced setter/technician
- Demonstrable application of SMED
- Demonstrate a continuous improvement/problem solving mindset
- Good communicator at various levels, including occasional customer facing
- Ability to coach and support a team
- Willing to lean and embrace new ways of working and embrace ever-changing production demands or requirements
- Be familiar with MRP systems and how they can be used to help resolve issues
- Self motivated, with an eye for detail
- Conscientious attitude to work
Hours:
You will be employed to work 40 hours per week 08.30 - 17.00 (Mon-Fri). There will be a 30 minute unpaid break each day. You will be expected to take a flexible approach to working variable shifts depending on demand.
