Then come and join Cadet Scheme at one of our units.
Derbyshire Fire Cadets is an ongoing programme starting in September 2023 where young people commit to attend one night a week at one of our units during term time.
The programme provides young people with an insight into working within a uniformed service. It provides exciting and unique opportunities to develop skills in team work and citizenship through undertaking firefighter activities.
Cadets have the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications including Duke of Edinburgh awards and First Aid.

As part of the application process you will be required to attend a taster session. The taster sessions are being held at our Joint Training Centre in Ripley and they will run from 10.00am to 12:00 on the 29th July 2023
The Cadet units run at the following times and locations:
- Shirebrook Fire Station runs on a Monday from 18:15 - 20:45 hours
- Chesterfield Fire Station runs on a Tuesday from 18:15 - 20:45 hours
- Ilkeston Fire Station runs on a Wednesday from 18:15 - 20:45 hours
- Kingsway Fire Station runs on a Thursday from 18:15 - 20:45 hours
