Residential Child Care Worker
Opportunities for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals at a children's home in Stockport. We are a long established family run business with an excellent reputation for providing high quality care placements for young people aged between 5-18 years with complex needs and challenging behaviour.
Applications welcome from persons seeking full/part time or casual work.
As a residential care worker you will play a pivotal role in supporting young people in care to achieve their goals and feel looked after within a safe, caring environment. Applicants will be expected to work flexibly according to shift patterns, be open and accepting of individuals from all backgrounds and be willing to work as part of a team which supports the best interests of the children in care.
Personal and Professional Attributes:-
- Confident and able to set and maintain clear and consistent boundaries for young people.
- Personal warmth with a sense of humour and the ability to maintain these in challenging situations.
- Enthusiastic and highly motivated to promote an outstanding and inspirational service.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Help to maintain a safe, clean environment and promote wellbeing including preparation of healthy meals etc.
- Successful candidates will be supported to contribute to care planning and participate in reviews and other meetings for young people.
Other Requirements:-
- Diploma Level 3, or NVQ level 4 in Childcare is desirable, but full training will be offered where required.
- Requires shift work, including nights and weekends.
- Full driving licence is preferred.
- The post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
