About The Role
The role of 'Sewing Machinist & Fabric Cutter' within the mattress factory is a key one in order to facilitate the smooth running of the factory. The job holder will initially report to the MD, Angie Curl.
Responsibilities
- Oversea the work flow as directed on the weekly P&T list
- Take product specifications and fabric choices from the customer’s works order form
- Prepare mattress panels and boarders via cutting and sewing to the products specification
- Prepare divan and bedstead base cases by cutting and sewing as directed on the works order
- All finished work will be fed to the factories senior mattress maker and upholster
Candidate requirements
- Reliable, conscientious worker able to produce work to time and consistently high standards
- Experienced user of flat bed sewing machines
- Excellent ability to measure and cut fabric panels to specification
- The ability to work unsupervised and efficiently organise your own daily work schedule
